Write and read long-form articles. Verified journalists get a special badge.
What this is
Articles are longer pieces of writing: news, opinion, community stories, guides. Reading articles is free for everyone. Writing and publishing needs a Creator Plus subscription (£4.99 a month, or £3.84 per 28 days billed annually). Verified journalists get a distinct badge on their profile and articles. Founder accounts include this with Founder access.
Writing an article (Creator Plus)
- Go to Articles → ✍️ Write. Writing requires a Creator Plus subscription. If you do not have it yet, you will see the Creator Plus plan and a link to subscribe.
- Add a cover image by uploading a file (optional), a title and a subtitle.
- Write your article in the editor. The toolbar lets you make text bold, italic, add headings, quotes, lists, links, images and code.
- Choose a category and add tags to help people find it.
- Tick Premium if you want it to be subscribers-only.
- Tap Save draft to finish later, or Publish to share it.
You can edit or delete your articles anytime from My articles.
Reading articles
- Open Articles to browse the Latest, Trending, and articles from people you follow. Filter by category.
- Tap any article to read it, see the estimated read time, and follow the author.
- On the Home page, a News & articles strip shows fresh pieces from writers you follow.
The Journalist badge
Verified journalists get an ✍ Journalist badge shown on their profile and every article they write — visually different from business or verified badges.
To apply:
- Go to Upgrade → Apply for Journalist badge.
- Enter your publication, your role, and links to your published work.
- Submit. Our team reviews each application, and you'll be notified when you're approved.
Earning from articles
- Subscriptions: mark an article Premium — non-subscribers read the first 300 words, then are invited to subscribe (£4.99/mo).
- Tips: readers can tip you with Arc Credits on any article.
