Getting started on Arc

Everything you need to set up your account and find your way around.

What Arc is

Arc is a global community platform. It's a place to share posts, join community Hubs, shop, find jobs, hire help, book appointments, fundraise, and much more — all in one app.

Joining Arc

Anyone can join Arc — sign in with your phone number and follow the short onboarding steps. If a friend shared their personal link with you, open it and tap Join Arc; they'll be credited as the person who referred you.

Sharing Arc

Share your personal link with friends. When they join through your link you are credited as their referrer. Your link is permanent — it never expires and there is no limit on how many people can join through it. Find it in Settings → Share Arc, then tap Copy link or Share.

Setting up your account

  1. Open Arc and sign in with your phone number. You'll get a code by text — enter it to continue.
  2. Follow the short onboarding steps: add your name, a username, your languages, and your date of birth.
  3. Add a photo, a short bio, and your home city to complete your profile (you'll earn Arc Credits for this!).

Finding your way around

Down the side of the screen you'll find:

  • 🏠 Home — your feed of posts from people and Hubs you follow
  • 👥 Hubs — community groups you can join
  • 🔍 Explore — discover people, Hubs and content
  • 💬 Messages — your conversations
  • 🔔 Notifications — likes, comments, follows and updates
  • 👤 Profile — your page
  • ⚙️ Settings and 🛡️ Safety

Below that is Discover (Shop, Events, Jobs, Hire, Fundraise, Nearby) and Create & Earn, where you can turn on selling, hosting events, and more.

Choosing your language

Arc speaks 28 languages. Go to Settings → Language and pick yours — the whole app switches instantly, including right-to-left languages like Urdu and Arabic.

Common questions

How do I follow someone? Open their profile and tap Follow.

What are Hubs? Community groups — for a town, cause, temple, business or interest. Join the ones you like.

How do I post something? Tap the + Create post button at the top or in the sidebar.

Is Arc free? Yes — using Arc is free. Some extras (selling fees, promotions, subscriptions) have costs, always shown up front.

Cookies and your privacy

The first time you visit Arc you'll see a short cookie notice at the bottom of the screen. Arc only uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and the platform working. Arc does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and your data is never sold. Tap Got it to dismiss the notice.

Where Arc is available

Arc is open to adults 18 and over in most of the world, and age is verified rather than self-declared. For legal and sanctions-compliance reasons, Arc is not currently available in a small number of countries. If Arc is not available where you are, you will see a message when you try to sign up and you will not be able to create an account.

Troubleshooting

  • I didn't get my sign-in code — wait a moment and tap resend; check your signal.
  • My feed is empty — follow some people and join a few Hubs to fill it.
  • I want to change my details — go to Settings → Account.

Find people you know

Right after you finish onboarding, Arc offers a one-time Find people you know step. If you choose Allow access to contacts, Arc checks your phone contacts against people already on Arc and shows you any matches so you can follow or connect. Arc never stores your contacts — the check happens once and the numbers are not saved. This works on mobile browsers; on desktop you can find people from the Explore page instead. You can always tap Skip for now, and the step is only ever shown once.

Subscriptions overview

Arc is free to join and free to take part in. Reading, watching, applying to jobs, attending events, buying, following and messaging never cost anything.

Some tools to create and earn are separate subscriptions, and each one is its own plan:

  • Creator Plus to write articles and monetise videos
  • Arc Marketplace to sell products
  • Arc Events to host paid events
  • Arc Jobs to post job listings
  • Arc Hire to offer services
  • Arc Bookings to take appointments
  • Arc Dating and Arc Rishta for the private relationship spaces
  • Arc Hub Standard to run a Hub

Your account type and your subscriptions are separate: for example a business account still needs the Arc Jobs subscription to post jobs. See every plan and price under Subscriptions. Founder accounts include everything with Founder access.
