What this is
Fundraising on Arc lets you collect donations for a cause — a medical bill, a community project, a memorial, a charity, anything. You can also donate to campaigns other people have started. If you're a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid adds 25% to your donation at no extra cost to you.
How to start a fundraiser
- Open Fundraise from the menu and tap Start a fundraiser.
- Give it a title, choose a category, and write your story — explain what you're raising money for and why.
- Set your goal (the amount you're hoping to reach).
- Add a cover photo and an optional end date. Tick the box if it's for a registered charity.
- Tap Launch campaign. It goes live straight away and you get a link to share.
You must be 18 or over to start a fundraiser.
How to donate
- Open a campaign and tap Donate now.
- Pick an amount (or type your own).
- If you're a UK taxpayer, tick Add Gift Aid — this adds 25% for free. You'll see the short declaration you're agreeing to.
- Leave a message of support if you like, or tick Donate anonymously to hide your name.
- Tap Donate and pay securely. You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Using it day to day
- Supporters wall: everyone who donates appears on the campaign, with their message and amount (anonymous donors show as "Anonymous supporter").
- Updates: organisers can post updates ("We reached halfway!"). Everyone who donated gets a notification.
- Track your money: organisers see total raised, number of supporters, and the Gift Aid you can reclaim, in Manage campaign. Withdraw your funds from Earnings.
- Your history: My donations & campaigns shows everything you've given and everything you've raised.
Common questions
What is Gift Aid? If you're a UK taxpayer, the government adds 25% to your donation. It costs you nothing extra — just tick the box and confirm you're a UK taxpayer.
Can I reclaim the Gift Aid? Only registered charities can claim Gift Aid from HMRC. Arc records the amount for you; the actual claim is made by the charity.
Can I give without showing my name? Yes — tick Donate anonymously and you'll appear as "Anonymous supporter".
When do I get the money I raised? Donations are added to your Earnings as they come in. Withdraw anytime from Earnings.
Troubleshooting
- My donation didn't go through — no money is taken unless payment completes. Try again from the campaign page.
- I can't start a fundraiser — you must be 18 or over.
- The Gift Aid box is greyed out — make sure you've entered an amount first.
- I can't see my campaign — check it's set to active in My campaigns.
