Community Guidelines

Version 1.0 · Effective 27 July 2026 · Arc Social Ltd

Plain English. No legal jargon. These are the rules that keep Arc a safe, real community.

1. What Arc is about

A safe, verified, real community. Your life on your terms.

2. What is always welcome

Sharing your life, promoting your business, supporting your community, connecting with people, and creative expression.

3. Zero tolerance

These lead to an instant permanent ban and law enforcement referral: child sexual abuse material, terrorism and violent extremism, incitement to mass violence, sustained targeted harassment campaigns, doxxing, and non-consensual intimate images.

4. Not allowed, but may be appealed after review

Hate speech, graphic violence, spam, deliberate misinformation, and copyright infringement.

5. Language rules

Abusive language is filtered automatically in all 28 Arc languages. Repeated attempts to post abusive content result in escalating restrictions: first a warning, then a 24-hour posting restriction, then a 7-day suspension, then a permanent ban.

6. Dating and Matrimonial section rules

Dating and Matrimonial are strictly for people aged 18 and over. Before activating either, you must confirm on screen that you are 18 or older. Providing false information about your age is a violation of these guidelines and the Terms of Service, and may result in permanent account suspension and reporting to the relevant authorities. No unsolicited explicit content. No coercion or pressure. No sharing match contact details publicly. An emergency exit is always available. Meet in public places.

7. Shop rules

Honest listings only, real photos, accurate descriptions, prompt dispatch, and genuine reviews.

8. Creator rules

Your original content, proper attribution, and no misleading monetisation claims.

9. Journalist rules

Accuracy, no fabrication, and proper source handling.

10. Hub rules

Hub owners are responsible for their community and must enforce these guidelines within their Hub.

10a. Paid features and subscriptions

Arc is free to join and free to take part in. Some tools to create and earn are separate subscriptions, and each one is its own plan (for example Arc Marketplace to sell, Arc Jobs to post jobs, Creator Plus to publish articles, Arc Dating and Arc Rishta for the private spaces). Your account type and your subscriptions are separate. Full prices and cancellation terms are in the Terms of Service and on the Subscriptions page. Founder accounts include everything.

11. Enforcement process

Automated filter first, then human review on report, then a warning, then a temporary restriction, then a permanent ban, and law enforcement referral where appropriate.

12. How to report

There is a report button on every piece of content. For urgent matters, email safety@thearcsocial.com.

13. Appeals

Email legal@thearcsocial.com within 30 days of any enforcement action.

14. Under-18s and age checks

Arc is for adults aged 18 and over, and age is verified rather than self-declared. We take under-age use extremely seriously. If you think an account belongs to someone under 18, report it (choose "Under 18") or email safety@thearcsocial.com immediately. We suspend any account we reasonably believe is under 18 and ask the person to verify their age; if they cannot show they are 18 or over, we remove the account and delete its data.

15. Protected political speech

Arc is a global platform and protects political expression. You may criticise any government, leader, party or policy, and advocate for peaceful political movements and self-determination, including movements such as Khalistan. Protected speech stays up even when it is unpopular or when a government objects to it.

16. Identity-based hatred, zero tolerance

Criticising a government is protected. Attacking people because of who they are is not. We do not allow identity-based hatred targeting religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality or disability, incitement to violence, terrorism, or coordinated hate where groups act together to target people. Coordinated identity-based hate is detected and the accounts involved are suspended.

17. Medical and traditional-remedy content

Posts that make health, medical or traditional-remedy claims carry a disclaimer that they are not medical advice. Always speak to a qualified professional. Content that could cause serious harm is removed.

18. Verification

Professional verification (49 per year) and matrimonial verification (79 per year) are optional. A verified badge means we checked a supporting document or identity at the time of approval. It is not a guarantee of quality and is not professional, legal or medical advice.

19. Community notes

Members can add context to a post. Notes only appear once enough people from a broad range of viewpoints rate them helpful. Notes must be factual and follow these guidelines.

20. Safety Council and transparency

A member Safety Council advises on our safety policy and activates at 1,100 members. We publish transparency reports twice a year covering reports received, content removed, accounts suspended and law enforcement requests.
