Political speech and expression

What is protected, and the clear lines we never allow to be crossed.

What is protected, and the clear lines we never allow to be crossed.

Arc is a global platform and we protect political expression. You can hold and share political views, criticise any government, and support peaceful political movements and causes.

What is protected

  • Criticism of any government, leader, party or policy
  • Advocacy for self determination and peaceful political movements, including movements such as Khalistan
  • Debate, dissent, protest and campaigning
  • Sharing news, opinion and analysis

Protected speech stays up even when it is unpopular or when a government objects to it, provided it does not cross the lines below.

The lines we never allow

We have zero tolerance for:

  • Identity based hatred. Attacks on people because of who they are, including their religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality or disability.
  • Incitement to violence. Calling for or encouraging violence against people.
  • Terrorism. Support for or promotion of terrorist organisations or acts.
  • Coordinated hate. Groups acting together to target people with hatred.

Criticising a government is protected. Attacking people because of who they are is not. Those are different things, and we treat them differently.

Reporting

If you see content that crosses these lines, report it. We review reports within 24 hours, and critical reports within 1 hour. Coordinated identity based hate is detected and actioned, including suspension of the accounts involved.
